2010 BNP Paribas Masters Semifinal Preview - Llodra vs. Soderling
In an exciting and surprising semifinal line up, Frenchman Michael Llodra looks forward to extend his giant-killing run with a win over Swede Robin Soderling at the BNP Paribas Masters event, being played here in Paris, France.
Frenchman Michael Llodra has emerged as a surprise package in the season's last Masters series event, that happens to be a home event for him. After taming tall American John Isner in the second round, Llodra took out defending champion Novak Djokovic, followed by World Tour champion Nikolay Davydenko in yesterday's quarterfinal. Llodra has two singles titles from the 2010 season in Marseille and Eastbourne and is in fantastic form with an elusive all court game.
Swede Robin Soderling, a French Open finalist for two years in a row, also made waves at the start of the year with a title in Rotterdam. More success followed on the Swede's favourite red clay when he finished runner up in Barcelona and then French Open to Rafael Nadal. With a quarterfinal showing at the US Open, Soderling showed promise for the rest of the season and with it qualified for the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals.
Where Llodra is a classic serve and volleyer, Soderling is a brilliant counter puncher and all these attributes make today's clash a real nail-biter.
